Cecilia is a London-based opera director; she has directed for University College Opera, Spectra Ensemble, Opera Holland Park, Wagner 1900, Helios Collective and XOGA, and assisted for a number of companies including British Youth Opera and Berlin Opera Academy where she worked in German, Italian and French.
In August 2019 Cecilia directed Scott Joplin’s opera Treemonisha for Spectra Ensemble, the company she founded in 2015, at the Grimeborn Festival in London.
Alongside her freelance work, Cecilia is reading for an AHRC-funded PhD in History of Art at University College London. Previously, Cecilia worked as programme curator at the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, Oxford where she staged LiveFridays. Cecilia's initial training was as a musician at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, London, where she studied the violin under Igor Petrushevski.
